The History of Blue Bay Resort, Curaçao

Curaçao’s enchanting Blue Bay Resort gets its name from the original owner of the land, Anno Blaauw, who named the piece of land “Blaauwbaai” before 1700. Here, Mr Blaauw grew limes, oranges and the precious blue dye, Indigo. This resort has a fascinating history. During World War II, US troops used it as a base for maritime operations. In 1990, the Jacobs family took over the plantation and laid the foundations and infrastructure of the current resort. Developer Steve Raspoort then gradually transformed it into a thriving resort with a golf course. Farmer, Beach Bar Blend, a place for all water sports, multiple sunbeds and parasols and there is a Beach volleyball court and a playground for the kids. In short, the Blue Bay Resort on Curaçao has all the comforts.

Our villas have private pools, while our apartments offer access to shared pools to cool off. Each accommodation at the Blue Bay Resort in Curaçao has its own characteristics and capacity, so pay close attention to the one that suits your group size.

The apartments have 2 or 3 bedrooms, making them perfect for smaller groups. The apartments are also on the ground floor making them easily accessible for the disabled. The villas in our range are suitable for larger groups with 5 and 7 bedrooms respectively. Both villas are equipped with a BBQ allowing you to spend wonderful evenings with your friends and/or family, enjoying delicious food and stunning views from the villas’ terrace.
